Morning News Round-Up -- 4.22.09: Foster City Self-Interest Edition...

Self-interest, pure and simple. The Foster City City Council wants to extend term limits and up its monthly stipend -- and they want voters to decide on this in November. Watch Dog has said it before, why doesn't the Foster City City Council just move forward with this but implement the new term-limits and raises until after they are all off the City Council? Eliminate the self-interest b.s.

A City Coucil race is shaping up in the hamlet of Millbrae. Mayor Robert Gottschalk is termed out...but Gina Papan is running for reelection and former Councilmember Nadia Holober and Planning Commissioner Lorrie Kalos-Gunn will also be on the ballot. It seems like the three are running two open seats. Can anyone in Millbrae confirm that?

While we are talking City Council races...San Mateo City Council candidate David Lim wants us to know that he got the endorsement from Alice Lai-Bitker, President of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.

San Carlos needs to cut a million bucks from its budget. Say it ain't so: a San Mateo County city with budget challenges?
