The letter was about the ongoing pissing match between the City of Foster City and the San Mateo-Foster City School District. You'll recall that the Foster City City Council suggested that the School District increase class size from 20 to 30. Here is the quote about us.
"...The City Council has suggested that the school district seriously consider increasing class sizes from 20 to 30 students in kindergarten, first, second and third grades. As Watch Dog San Mateo has stated, that’s “the political and policy equivalent of a city letting go 50 percent of its police officers and firefighters...”Here is what we said in our original posting...
Thank you for reading Ms. Moore. (And thank you for publishing Daily Journal...)

Increasing class size by 50% is the equivalent of a 1/3 reduction in staff. Complain all you like, but at least get the math right.
Watch Dog was trying to point out what the equivalent type of decision would be for a City Councilmember. I was not trying to provide accurate math.
Watch Dog would like to bet that the Foster City Council will not, under any circumstances, cut 1/3 (or half) of their Police and Fire... That was my point.
