Assembly District 19 and the "micromanaging nanny state"

Well, the race isn't as high profile as Atherton or Measures W and V...but the race for the 19th Assembly District, also known as "Jerry Hill's seat," does seem to have an interesting character running.

Brian Perry, the Libertarian running for the Assembly seat seems pretty cool...

From his SmartVoter.org page:
California is turning into a micromanaging nanny state. The 80+ legislators up there in Sacramento think they know better what the other 33,000,000+ of us should eat, how we should take care of our kids, how we should conduct our business with one another, what is best for our health, what our children should be learning, and what the temperature of our homes should be, --just to begin with.
From his own webpage, brianperry.us:
What we have is a tyranny of the minority--people who feel they can mandate their preferred behavior to the free citizens of California. What you end up with creates criminals from non-criminal behavior.
He also takes a shot at some of our local legislators:

Sally Lieber tried to pass a bill making it a crime to spank your kid.

Gene Mullin wanted to raise the car seat age from 6 years old to 8 years old.

We have a new law about banning handheld cell phones while driving. Studies show that it’s talking that is a distraction, not the holding of a cell phone.
So Candidate Brian Perry, here is an open platform for you. Send me a post and I'll post it, unedited, on Watch Dog...your ideas are intriguing to me -- unfortunately for you, this race was over in June...
