A foul-mouthed Juvenile Court Judge? How fun!

There is an ongoing case against a former San Mateo County-based Child Psychiatrist, Dr. William Ayres, for (alleged) child molestation. Watch Dog has written about this case before...and there is a blog set up to keep tabs on the case called: William Ayres Watch.

Ayres was referred patients by the juvenile justice system in the County. Which brings up several questions:
  • Who knew what?
  • When did they know about the accusations against Ayres?
  • Did folks "in the know"/Judges keep sending patients his way anyway?
These questions were brought up in an interview with a local Superior Court Judge, Marta Diaz, in a recent article for the legal paper, the Daily Journal. Being a Juvenile Court judge, you'd think Diaz would use a little more discretion in her word choice during the interview. (The full interview can be read here -- at least until Watch Dog gets a cease and desist letter from the publication...)

Here are some (culturally insenstive and foul-mouthed) excerpts:

...San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Marta S. Diaz still seethes about the teenager accused of murder who escaped from the juvenile lockup right outside her chambers window.

"I wish I’d seen him," said Diaz, gazing at the spot where a year ago the youth boosted himself through netting over a recreation yard and fled to the border. "I’d have caught the little bastard myself before he got to Mexico."

---

Local government watchdog Michael G. Stogner, of Belmont, has insisted that county officials, including Diaz, continued sending patients to Ayre, despite knowing about the accusations. New York-based journalist and victims’ advocate, Victoria Balfour, has accused Diaz of protecting Ayres.

Diaz shrugged off the attacks. "Stogner and Balfour have this little jihad against me," she said. "I don’t care. I know it’s all bullshit. All will come out."
Watch Dog would love to see Diaz's reaction if any of the folks that came before her used the same language...

(Hat Tip to all the Watch Dogs out there...thank you)

Good point, Watch Dog. If any of those "little bastards" used the language she did, she'd probably come down from the bench and put up her dukes.

I agree--I am appalled that a judge would use such language! Does she think because the charges who come before her talk that way that she needs to also??
Also, what justifies calling investigative reporting a "jihad"?? Talk about intemperate spouting off!

Maybe she had a few cocktails, the economy has gotta be hitting the County......maybe she should be sent to Ayres for a physical! That's the attitude of someone who is bitter, angry and she has been found out and associated with a molestor........what could be worse for Diaz! Every dog has his day.....

Hon. Judge Marta Diaz has finally broken the silence (It's All Bullshit")regarding her personal involvement and knowledge of Dr. William Ayres molesting boys dating back to 1987 when she was a prosecutor for James P. Fox. A young boy by the name of Greg Hogue reported the exact same allegations that Dr. Ayres is being charged with today.
I have asked some simple questions.
Did she in any way have knowledge of the San Mateo Police Department investigation of Dr. William Ayres for molestion of boys in 1987 while she was a prosecutor for the District Attorneys Office?
Did she in anyway cause that investigation to be stopped?
Did SMPD present their case to her in 1987?
After she became our juvenile Judge for Hillcrest how many boys has she referred to Dr. William Ayres?
I'd like to bring your attention to a public meeting that took place last month in San Mateo County sponsored by Human Services Agency. You'll notice the guest speaker was Victoria Balfour, the Moderator Patrica Bresee a former Juvenile Judge at Hillcrest. Former Judge Bresee said how sorry and regretful she was to have sent boys to Ayres, you could tell she is sincere about it.

Marta Diaz response to reporter re: Stogner and Balfour

"Stogner and Balfour have this little jihad against me," she said. "I don’t care. I know it’s all bullshit. All will come out."

I have notified the Board of Supervisors on August 8, 2008 of the concerns.

Dear Adrienne,

Dear, Adrienne,

I said I would pass Wilson's concerns on to the BOS.......post # 245

Michael

To this day no response from the BOS.......Common

It should be noted the Victoria Balfour lives in New York, I live in San Carlos (again) neither of us know Marta Diaz or have any relatives who have been in her court. We have asked some tough questions and for this she attacks us personally choosing to use the word Jihad She has answered the questions with a blanket response.
"It's all bullshit" I'll take that as a NO. Her profile confirms she was working for James P. Fox in the District Attorneys Office in 1987.

I am a parent who came before judge Diaz recently, and was
appalled at the way this judge
behaves on the bench, its like
she has taken the law into her own
hands and has no mercy on some of
this kids who just happened to make
a wrong choice. Don't get me wrong
I belive in making the kids responsible for thier own acctions,
but my god for this judge to be up
there is pretty scary, she has no
mercy on this kids, I think she should be investigated, she has other motives for sentencing this kids, its like she thrives on seeing the parents crying and begging for mercy and she laughs about it with no sympathy... I mean Wow..!! and the way she is sending all this kids in to the juvenile facilities I think she
just has other motives for this.

Hey Watch Dog I just wanted to give you an update on Hon. Judge Marta Diaz and the Dr. William Ayres trial.
She is refusing to return calls to reporter John Roemer for a followup article he did, and her statement it will all come out, she meant in the trial. I beg to differ with her again. The reason It did not come out in this trial is that the District Attorney James P. Fox did not include any victims that were referred to Dr. Ayres from Juvenile system. He testified that he was hired by San Mateo County in 1963 he worked for Hillcrest Juvenile Hall until 2005
Not one Hillcrest victim was interviewed. Not one CPS report was produced by the DA'S office. 3 have surfaced but not from the DA'S Office.

Welcome to San Mateo County
