Morning News Round-Up -- 10.7.09: Another week, another San Mateo County molestation trial...

Belmont Chamber President Michael Anthony Kazarian is likely to take the stand to fight charges that he molested his former girlfriend’s 8-year-old daughter -- making this the second high-profile molestation case of the year that heads to court in the County.

Bill Clinton stopped through South City yesterday to stump for Lt. Gov./Congressional wannabe John Garamendi. The event was meant for the former President to support Garamendi in his bid for Congress… Naturally, Clinton used the mic to endorse health care reform, proving once again that there is no microphone that Bill Clinton doesn't love.

Taking up President Clinton's call to action: Pacficans from Riptide are calling on everyone to pressure Congress for healthcare reform with a public option. Do it by Oct. 15!

Burlingame and San Mateo want to adopt “quiet zones” to deal with the deafening Caltrain horns. Meanwhile, Caltrain is blowing $200 grand to get its “toots” and “tweets” to a level that the public can handle.

Here is another story about flushing money down the toilet... literally flushing the toilets in the prisons...

Redwood City Police are looking for at least five people who lured a 26-year-old man into to a street corner and shot him. Nice. "Violence best by government test..."

Menlo Park seems to have grossly miscalculated its budget expenditures… by about $400,000. Is that what happens when cities lay off much-needed employees?

Jason McGlown was convicted of felony child abuse for force-feeding his 13-year-old mentally disabled son drink numerous juice boxes as punishment for stealing his teacher's drink. Gross.

And finally, political turmoil in Half Moon Bay. Bruce at the PP Examiner takes a look...
