Menlo Park Fundraising Totals: Fergusson raised (and spent) a lot...

The two-week-out tallies of Menlo Park's Council candidates just came online.

Here is the status, broken down by total "raised" and total "cash on hand" that candidates have to spend in the last weeks of the campaign. These are numbers reported in the Almanac -- but have not been verified by Watch Dog:

Kelly Fergusson (incumbent)
raised: $22,149
cash on hand: -$1,948

Andy Cohen (incumbent)
raised: $14,515
cash on hand: $5,096

Rick Ciardella
raised: $10,800
cash on hand: $8,251

I guess you could say wow to a couple of things.

• Fergusson dwarfed her competitors' fundraising. (Although she really only has one competitor, Ciardella. She is running more or less 'with' Cohen.)
• Ciardella is really waiting until the end to spend his cash. That's one way to do it -- probably not that successful for a challenger though.
