Watch Dog has been sleeping...News Round-Up (for a few days) 10.03.08

The Bay Area council doesn't seem to care that Atherton and Menlo Park folks don't like high speed rail. They put together a report showing its benefits...how dare they...

In related high speed rail news, the Atherton and Menlo Park City Councils voted to just say no to high speed rail. Suprised?

In news that will only affect very few people -- a new planning commissioner appointed in Portola Valley. Congratulations Alexandra Von Feldt.

There has been a spike in voter registration in San Mateo County. This is cool. I hope all these local campaigns are taking note. (Hint: Get an updated voter list...)

Our legislators at work. Simitian and Yee get in on the Governor's bill-signing frenzy. Of note to Watch Dog, thank you Senator Lee for standing up for free speech.

Eshoo (and Speier) voted for the bail out, I mean economic recovery package/save our sinking economy legislation.

CalTrain fares going up. No surprise. Now if only they could get all the bikes on the trains...

In what seems to be a growing trend among school districts, especially in San Mateo County (think Sequoia Union High School District), another Charter school is denied.
